At least 16 people were killed and about 90 were hospitalized on Saturday as a high-speed train in China went off the rails after being hit from behind by another train, Xinhua Chinese state news agency said.
The accident occurred when the first train, en route from the city of Hangzhou to Wenzhou in eastern China's Zhejiang province was struck by the lightning and later was hit from behind by another train, travelling from Beijing to Fuzhou in eastern China.
Both trains' carriages fell off a bridge, killing at least 16 and injuring about 90, the agency said
Rescuers are working on the scene.
