A gas blast that ripped through a power plant in the Siberian city of Surgut in the early hours of Tuesday has injured twelve people, the local branch of the Emergencies Ministry said.
"At 7:45 a.m. local time a gas explosion occurred in the plant's gas control unit, twelve people were injured, five of them are in critical condition," a spokesman for the ministry said.
Scores of Emergencies Ministry specialists with special equipment arrived at the scene and put out the fire which began after the explosion.
