Dutch football manager Ruud Gullit left his post at Russia's Terek Grozny football club on good terms, the club's Vice President Khaidar Alkhanov said on Wednesday.

Gullit was sacked immediately after Terek's 1-0 defeat against Amkar Perm on Tuesday. Media reports suggested that Terek's Chairman and Chechen President Ramzan Kadytov had accused the former World Footballer of the Year of being distracted by bars and night clubs.

"We did not hold a large meeting," Alkhanov said. "The club's chairman [Ramzan Kadyrov] announced Ruud Gullit's dismissal. Gullit thanked the management for its trust. We parted calmly, and without any hard feelings."

Alkhanov dismissed as "rumors" media accounts that the club must pay Gullit $6 million in compensation for the termination of his contract.

Alkhanov did not rule out the possibility that Gullit may sign a contract with Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax, recently bought by Chechen billionaire Bulat Chagaev.

The vice president did not reveal who the club was considering to fill Gullit's post, saying only that the club would take its time to select the best candidate.
