United Russia party chairman Boris Gryzlov has submitted a list of party candidacies for the boards of state-run companies vacated by top government officials, the party said in a statement.
The list will be reviewed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the ruling party's leader.
The move follows a recent initiative by President Dmitry Medvedev to remove government officials from the boards of state-run companies and replace them with independent professionals.
The list of companies targeted by United Russia includes power trader Inter RAO UES, hydropower generator RusHydro and holding company MRSK, which manages energy sector companies.
According to United Russia faction in the lower house of the Russian parliament, there are State Duma members among the candidates. They will have to resign their Duma seats if chosen for the posts.
