The festival will also include performances by Russian dance troupes that were chosen by a professional jury. The festival will hand out awards for best dance, best musical performance and best choreography. There will also be an audience award. The recipient of the festival’s top prize will be sent to study at Isabel Bayon’s academy Ados Escuela de Flamenco in Seville.
The Viva Espana festival was first held in 2000, it became an international festival in 2006. Since then, artists from around the world have participated in it. The organizers hope that this year’s event, held in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall, will draw over 15,000 people.
