Greek media announced an unprecedented four-day strike in the morning of April 7 and since the country has remained in an information vacuum. The majority of news websites are not being updated, state news agencies remain silent and papers will not be published until at least Tuesday. A trade union commission is urging media not holding to the strike to stop their work immediately.

In return, the Athens' stock exchange announced it would temporarily restrict the circulation of the shares of Greece's largest media companies.
