Russian police at the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan was put on high alert ahead of the launch of the Soyuz TMA-21 piloted spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 5.

 

Russian police at the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan was put on high alert ahead of the launch of the Soyuz TMA-21 piloted spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 5.

Apart from policemen, canine service and aviation units will accompany cosmonauts on the way to the space freighter.
The spacecraft will bring Russian cosmonauts Alexander Samokutyayev and Andrei Borisenko, as well NASA astronaut Ronald Garan to the ISS.
They will join the current crew comprising Russian cosmonaut Dmitry Kondratyev, European Space Agency astronaut Paolo Nespoli and NASA astronaut Catherine Coleman.
