Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday said that a documentary or a feature film dedicated to Russia's police should be produced.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday said that a documentary or a feature film dedicated to Russia's police should be produced.

On Monday, the Russian president met with officers from special task police called Zubr. They asked the president whether a film about their work and the history of Russia's police could be shot. "No doubt about it, such a story should be made," Medvedev replied.

"Unfortunately, it's not accepted to make films about such stories. That's too bad," the president said.

"Let the Interior Ministry order [such a film]," Medvedev continued and advised that "proper consultants should be involved, people who have taken part in operations against criminals, and who have been to hotspots."

In a bid to restore the soured image of Russian law enforcers, who have seen a string of scandals in recent years, Medvedev launched a police reform which, among other things, renamed the Russian law enforcement agency from the traditional "militia" to the more Western-sounding title of "police."
