Good piece and a nice take on Russian affairs from an oblique (yet revealing) perspective. However, I'm surprised you have not referred to DDT; Shevchuk spans the 80s, 90s, and beyond, and has maintained his both critical faculties and his creative integrity from Soviet times to now, refusing to be bought at any time from then to now.
