PM Putin reprimands customs chief over New Year's party video
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin reprimanded the chief of the customs service on Wednesday over video footage of a New Year's party in a customs office in the Far East.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin reprimanded the chief of the customs service on Wednesday over video footage of a New Year's party in a customs office in the Far East.
A video posted on the Internet showed customs officials drinking champagne and dancing with women at a New Year's party in their office in Vladivostok.
"Several of our departments need to be disciplined," Putin told customs head Andrei Belyaninov. "I myself like to have fun and make jokes, but it should be done elsewhere."
The scandal arose shortly after another video, dating from 2008, appeared on the Internet showing police officers from the Urals region drinking vodka and dancing on the roof of a police car. The nine police officers involved were fired.
