Three police officers were killed and three injured in an antiterrorist operation in the south Russian region of Stavropol, the regional police press service said on Tuesday.
Five gunmen were killed during the operation in Stavropol's Kochubei district.
Search operations for other gang members are currently underway and those killed are being identified.
The press service did not say whether any gunmen were captured or escaped.
