Three people were killed in bread riots in Egypt over the past few days, the Al-Masry Al-Youm daily reported on Tuesday.
Huge lines form early in the morning outside bread shops as baked product deliveries have become irregular in the Egyptian capital.
The daily said some shop owners have inflated bread prices by as much as 300%, as a result of which one shop owner was killed by a mob in Cairo.
Egypt has been engulfed in violent protests against the 30-year rule of President Hosni Mubarak since January 25. The riots that swept through Cairo, Alexandria, Suez and other Egyptian cities have already claimed the lives of about 150 people, with another 4,000 reported injured.
