Russian President Dmitry Medvedev proposed including currencies of rapidly developing BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India and China) into the International Monetary Fund (IMF)'s special drawing rights.
"I suggest including BRIC currencies into IMF's special drawing rights - SDR," Medvedev said on Wednesday in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
BRIC aims to improve the current global economic situation and strengthen cooperation between the four countries, seen as the main forces driving the global economy beyond the traditional rich developed nations.
