Police in Latvia have arrested three people suspected of ritual animal killings after the headless bodies of two kittens were found in a forest near the capital Riga.

Two Latvians in their mid-twenties and a 23-year-old Russian national were arrested in Bikernieki Forest on Monday night, the mixnews.lv website said, citing police.

An investigation is underway.
