Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday called on the European business community to help scrap bilateral visa requirements between Russia and the EU.
"We have tried to do everything to move this process along, and I believe it has moved along. Its resolution now, to a significant extent, depends on the political will of the EU leadership and on how representatives of the business community relate to it," Medvedev said at a roundtable with Russian and EU manufacturers held as part of the Russia-EU summit in Brussels.
"This is an issue of mutual interest and I hope you will assist this process," he added.
The Russian president also pledged that all obsolete Soviet-era requirements regulating business trips by foreign specialists to Russia would be scrapped in the near future.
"I've given instructions," Medvedev said.
