Vladivostok: new infrastructure for APEC-2012 summit

The bridge via the Eastern Bosphorus Strait will link the mainland part of the city with Russky Island. The span of the bridge’s central part will reach 1,104 meters, setting a world record. The total length of the bridge will be 1,885 meters, the length with overpass – 3,100 meters, and the fourlaning – 21 meters.

A bridge via the Zolotoy Rog Bay (Gold Horn) will directly link two districts of the city. The road from the suburban Churkin Cape to downtown Vladivostok will take just 10 minutes.

The pylons of the bridge via the Zolotoy Rog Bay are growing by one meter per day. According to the project, the pylons will reach the height of 226.25 meters (742 feet).

The construction of the bridge via the Eastern Bosphorus Strait is planned to end in the second quarter of 2012. The bridge crossing will be built within the shortest period ever – 43 months. For example, the assemblage of cable-stayed structures and the concreting of pylons will be made simultaneously to speed up the construction.

The highway from the village Novy (New) via the De-Friz Peninsula towards the Sedanka area will allow getting to the center of the city from the airport within 30 minutes.

The low-level bridge from the De-Friz Peninsula to the Sedanka area is being built using mechanized complexes. At first the automotive platform drives temporal piles per each 21 meters. Then a second complex installs fundamental piles under the bridge footing.
