Russian cities of St. Petersburg, Tver and the capital of Moscow held events, commemorating victims of a deadly attack on a Moscow-St. Petersburg express train in late 2009.
Twenty-seven people were killed and 92 injured when a bomb equivalent to 7 kg (15 lbs) of TNT derailed the high-speed Nevsky Express from Moscow to St. Petersburg train on November 27, 2009.
"Today the whole Russia remembers victims of this terrible tragedy," St. Petersburg governor Valentina Matvienko said. "It is still hard to talk about it even a year later. The loss cannot be compensated."
"We will remember and do all we can so such tragedies would never happen in our country again," Matvienko added.Listen

In April 27 members of terrorist groups involved in the attack have been eliminated and another 14 arrested, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) chief said.
