A police officer has died in hospital after a suspected militant attack in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, a police source said on Friday.
The attack took place on Thursday evening in the Khasavyurtovsky district of the volatile republic.
“Three officers were taken to hospital, where one of them later died of his injuries,” the source said.
According to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, more than half of all terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus in 2010 have occurred in Dagestan.
