The death toll in Monday's apartment block fire in Shanghai has risen to 58, Chinese media said on Friday.
A total of 36 women and 22 men are listed as victims. The bodies are now being identified.
The 28-story building in Jing'an District was under reconstruction when it caught fire at about 2:00 pm local time (18:00 GMT). According to the official version, it was caused by a welding spark that set fire to nylon net and scaffolding.
Eight people were detained in connection with the deadly blaze.
