TransGroup freight company and Russia's national development bank Vnesheconombank (VEB) are holding talks on financing a new $1 billion railway terminal in the center of Moscow to link the city's three airports, TransGroup Chairman Maxim Liksutov said on Wednesday.

"We have spoken to VEB, VEB is interested in the project," Liksutov said, adding the parties have not discussed the volume of the deal yet.

The project envisages construction of a transport hub that will tie routes to Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports to the Kalanchyovskaya platform. The complex may be built before 2015, when reconstruction of those airports is completed.

The planned area of the complex amounts to 400,000 square meters and will include a transit centre, an air terminal, a train station for high-speed trains as well as a hotel, shopping facilities and parking.

Liksutov also said TransGroup continued negotiations with a Korean fund ready to grant a five to ten-year loan at a low rate.

"There is a fund. Almost state-run, Korean. They would like to do it very much. They are waiting for the amount from us," Liksutov said, adding that the cost of the project had been estimated at $1 billion.
