All the bodies of 61 victims of the Cuban plane crash have been found and sent for identification, ACN Cuban news agency said on Saturday.

The plane carrying 61 passengers, including 28 foreigners, and seven crew, en route from the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba to the capital of Havana, crashed on Thursday night near the province of Sancti Spiritus. No one survived the crash.

"The remains were transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Havana for identification," the agency said.

The ATR-72-212 plane was owned by the state-run AeroCaribbean airline.

Nine Argentineans, seven Mexicans, three Dutch, two German, two Austrian, and one person each from Spain, France, Italy, Japan and Venezuela were registered on board the plane.

Earlier the forensics expert and the rector of Havana University of Medical Science, Jorge Gonzales said only Cuban specialists would investigate into the tragedy.

"Cuba has all the capabilities to investigate the causes of the tragedy in Sancti Spiritus with its own means and its own specialists," Gonzales said.
