Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced on Saturday that all four candidates proposed by United Russia for the position of Moscow mayor were capable of heading the capital.
United Russia on Saturday proposed Transport Minister Igor Levitin, Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Sobyanin, Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Valery Shantsev, and First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Lyudmila Shvetsova as the four leading candidates for the position of Moscow's new mayor.
The list of candidates was confirmed during a presidium United Russia Party Board Leader Boris Gryzlov told journalists.
Medvedev's press secretary, Natalya Timakova, told journalists that the president had earlier met with all four mayoral candidates.
