At least two people were killed and another 17 injured in an apparently domestic gas explosion in the Schaerbeek community in Brussels, local authorities said on Sunday.
The explosion occurred on Saturday evening and hit three residential buildings, which were completely destroyed by the blast, the local authorities said.
Rescuers are continuing efforts to search for people trapped under the debris, the local authorities said.
Other versions of the explosion are also being investigated, the local authorities said.
