Prosecutors have launched a probe into an acute intestinal infection outbreak among schoolchildren in the Ulyanovsk region in Russia's Volga area, the local prosecutor's office said on Sunday.
A total of nine pupils from a secondary school in the village of Bolshoye Nagatkino in the Tsilninsky district were hospitalized on Friday with suspected dysentery, the prosecutor's office said.
According to the prosecutors, the infection could have been sparked by the absence of water supply in the village for several days.
