Russian Police may engage citizens for freelance, a new bill published on Saturday in Internet for the public discussion said.

The bill was posted on http://www.zakonoproekt2010.ru website following the recent proposal by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to change the name of Russian law enforcement forces from Russian "militsia" to the internationally accepted word "police".

The President's initiative suggests significant changes in current police legislation.

The new bill envisages that the police officers while performing the duties have the rights to engage citizens for freelance and establish tacit cooperation with those interested in cooperation with police.
