A fire which broke out on Thursday at the Grabar All-Russian Art, Scientific and Restoration Center in Moscow has killed two fire-fighters, a representative of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
"The fire covered around 1,500 square meters," a firefighter said, adding that it has now been brought under control.
The Emergencies Ministry representative said 20 fire teams and three fire-fighting helicopters had been deployed to extinguish the fire.
The center was established in 1918 by the scientist and fine art expert Igor Grabar, who headed it until 1930. The center mainly focuses on ancient Russian art, 18th century Russian art and scientific examinations of paintings and graphic works.
