Heather Mills, a former glamour model and the ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney, wants to enter the British national team to perform at the 2014 Paralympics in Russia's Sochi as a downhill skier, SundayExpress.co.uk reported.

The 46-year-old model, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident in 1993, previously impressed numerous TV-viewers after she showed off her skating skills by taking part in the Dancing on Ice show.

In her exclusive interview with Sunday Express, Mills said that "I've been skiing for many years and I'm much better at that than ice skating, so I'm training hard to try to get on the British Paralympic downhill team."

Mills, who is the patron of the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation, vice-president of the Limbless Association, was formerly a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Association Adopt-A-Minefield program and does a lot of charity for children, said it would be very inspiring for the kids that she counsel.

"If I manage to compete, it would be phenomenal - very inspiring for all the kids that I counsel. They didn't believe they could do anything and they are now trying ice skating and rollerblading and biking and swimming, which is wonderful... Having loved sport my whole life, competing in a Paralympics would be a dream come true," she added.

Sochi, the Russian resort city on the Black Sea, won the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games at an International Olympic Committee (IOC) session in Guatemala in July 2007 after a close race with South Korea's Pyeongchang and Austria's Salzburg.
