The death toll in Kyrgyz ethnic clashes has risen to 113, with more than 1,400 people injured, a local health ministry spokeswoman said on Sunday.
"A total of 113 people died, 21 of them over the past 24 hours in Jalalabad," the spokeswoman said.
Earlier, 104 people were reported killed in ethnic riots that swept through the country's second-largest city of Osh and another southern city of Jalalabad on Friday and Saturday.
The situation remains strained in the country's south on Sunday, with ethnic Kyrgyz and Uzbek groups armed with bludgeons, knives and guns reported roaming along the streets in Osh.
A state of emergency was introduced in the entire territory of the Jalalabad region on Sunday. A curfew has been in place in the city of Osh and the neighboring Kara-Suu and Aravan districts.
On Saturday, The Kyrgyz interim government declaring a partial mobilization of the civilian reservists and allowed police and the troops to shoot to kill in order to quench the riots and stop looters.
