A militant explosives expert has been killed in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, a regional security service spokesman said on Tuesday.
Umar Sakalov is believed to have produced several explosive devices used by militants during a June 4 attack near the Ingush village of Malgobek. Eight people were wounded in the blasts.
The spokesman also said Sakalov and his accomplices had planned to carry out a terrorist attack during Russia Day celebrations on June 12.
The official did not give further details.
