Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Thursday to provide financial support to Russians, who, due to extraordinary circumstances, find themselves stranded abroad without means of livlihood.
"Our citizens should feel safe in the knowledge that the government will always help them with legal, consular and any other support in emergency situations," Putin said.
Putin said that since the number of Russians traveling abroad is on the increase, the Russian authorities are working to alleviate administrative procedures at border crossings and move towards visa-free regimes with most countries.
