A consumer rights protection agency in Estonia has organized flights for 421 tourists stranded in Turkey after a tour company failed to pay for hotel accommodations, the agency's press service said on Saturday.
On Friday, Top Tours, one of Estonia's leading tour firms, announced it was closing down its business and not fulfilling tour packages that have already been purchased because it is does not have the needed funds.
The tour company has a debt of around 200,000 euros before hotels and clients. Some Turkish hotel administrators announced they will not allow the Estonian tourists to leave the country until hotel expenses are paid.
The consumer rights protection agency has promised to pay the outstanding debt to hotel administrators and has arranged through Estonian Air to return the tourists back home.
