King Abdullah II of Jordan will arrive in Azerbaijan on Saturday on an official visit, during which a range of agreements concerning Jordanian-Azerbaijani bilateral agreements are expected to be signed.

King Abdullah II of Jordan will arrive in Azerbaijan on Saturday on an official visit, during which a range of agreements concerning Jordanian-Azerbaijani bilateral agreements are expected to be signed.

King Abdullah II will visit the former Soviet state for the third time. His latest visit to Azerbaijan, which also resulted in several bilateral agreements, took place in May 2008.

"Azerbaijan-Jordan relations have been dynamically developed in the past four years. Leaders of both countries are interested in the development of relations," the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan, Elman Arasli, said in an interview with the Azeri-Press Agency.

According to Arasli, more than 30 agreements of cooperation were signed between the countries. Two more agreements are expected to be signed during the Jordanian leader's visit on Saturday.

Arasli said economic relations between the two countries were improving.

"The trade turnover between the countries is not so big. But there is progress. For example, last year the trade turnover increased by 43%," he said.

King Abdullah II of Jordan visited Russia in March to discuss bilateral trade and economic relations with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
