Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger has called for Iran to a change its course in nuclear and human rights fields

Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger has called for Iran to a change its course in nuclear and human rights fields.

Spindelegger said he wanted "a clear change of course by Iran" adding that only cooperation by Iran could derail the push for sanctions.

"I hope it will not have to come to this (sanctions) and that Iran is ready to cooperate with the international community," Austrian foreign minister told a joint news conference with Iranian foreign minister.

On Sunday in Vienna, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was holding talks with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano on the Iran controversial nuclear program.

In an interview with the Iranian news agency, IRNA, prior to the meeting, Mottaki said he would talk with Amano about a formula for the nuclear fuel swap.

The United States and other Western countries suspect Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear energy program and are seeking new sanctions following Iran's move to enrich uranium to 20%.

The UN-sponsored deal to supply nuclear fuel for a research reactor in Tehran proposes Iran ship out low-enriched uranium to be processed into higher-grade nuclear fuel and then returned to Iran.
