Police in central Russia's republic of Chuvashia detained on Saturday a suspect in the murder of a priest, an investigation spokesman said.
The body of 46-year-old Father Anatoly was discovered earlier in the day in a church in the village of Yantikovo. The spokesman said the priest had been shot in the chest.
A 47-year-old man with a history of mental illness has been detained in connection with the shooting.
Two priests were shot dead in Moscow in matter of weeks in late 2009.
