CSKA Moscow defeated newly-promoted Sibir 4-1 in west Siberia's Novosibirsk on Saturday to go joint top of the Russian Premier League with Spartak Nalchik.

Some woeful defending from the bottom-placed club let CSKA's Sergei Ignashevich in to head home the open after 11 minutes, and a display of pinpoint passing was finished by Brazilian striker Guilherme just before the break to give the former Red Army side a two-goal lead.

CSKA made it three just nine minutes after the interval, Czech forward Tomas Necid scoring from close range. The Muscovites took advantage of poor midfield play by the Siberians to break and score number four in the 73rd minute, Alan Dzagoyev striking home confidently.

Sibir scored a consolation a minute later, Czech midfielder Tomas Cizek's shot deflected past Igor Akinfeev in the CSKA goal.

The win means that CSKA are now joint top with Spartak Nalchik on 14 points after six games. Both teams have also scored 11 goals and conceded four.

Spartak Nalchik face Spartak Moscow in the Russian capital on Sunday.

Sibir are bottom with one point out of a possible 21

In Saturday's other two games, a 72nd minute scrambled goal from Dynamo Moscow's Moldavian midfielder Alexandru Epureanu gave the Muscovites all three points against Moscow Region club Saturn. The win lifts Dynamo into seventh place.

Another Moscow club, Lokomotiv, beat west Siberia's Tom Tomsk 2-1 in the Russian capital, goals from Denis Glushakov and Ukraine's Oleksandr Aliev, his sixth in as many games, giving the Railwaymen a two-goal advantage before Sergei Kornilenko made things tense with a late strike.

Lokomotiv are now fifth, while Tomsk drop to ninth.
