Letters soar into space and then in a second turn into a text – this is what the PELICULA video installation looks like. It opened in Пroekt_Fabrika’s Moscow gallery. ‘Pelicula’ is a Spanish word meaning ‘a photographic film, a movie’. The video installation uses an ordinary screen stretching from the floor to the ceiling which displays a projected chapter from the Bible about the Genesis creation myth. The letters move around chaotically, only gathering into a full text when someone enters the room. When viewers approach the installation, they register on camera.  When the camera registers movement, a special computer program turns the “raging” letters into a single picture.
The artists also used four sculptures made of coins in the installation. The shadows cast by the sculptures are projected onto the screen to give the image more depth, the artists explained. They said that the viewers themselves can become part of the image.
