Swedish skiers win Olympic gold, bronze in men's 30 km pursuit

Swedish skier Marcus Hellner has taken the gold in the men's 30km cross-country pursuit on the ninth day of the Olympics in Canada's Vancouver, and his compatriot Johan Olsson has won the bronze.

Swedish skier Marcus Hellner has taken the gold in the men's 30km cross-country pursuit on the ninth day of the Olympics in Canada's Vancouver, and his compatriot Johan Olsson has won the bronze.

Hellner finished the distance in one hour 15 minutes and 11.4 seconds, only 2.1 seconds ahead of his closest contender, Tobias Angerer of Germany, who was awarded the silver.

Russian skier Alexander Legkov came in forth, completing the cross-country course just 4 behind the winner.

Another Russian, Maxim Vylegzhanin, who was among the leaders after the first 15km classic pursuit, only managed to come in 17th, finishing 1 minute 52.8 seconds behind the leader.

Russia’s Nikolay Pankratov and Sergey Novikov finished 32nd and 43rd, respectively.
