Russia's women curling team lost 4-6 to the United States on the eighth day of the Olympics in Vancouver, handing the Americans their first win in the competition after three defeats.
The Russian team is in action again later on Friday, and will hope for a better performance against Switzerland, bottom of the curling table with no wins from three matches.
Russia has won just one of its four curling matches in Vancouver so far, 7-3 against Denmark. The team lost to Germany 9-5 and Britain 10-3.
In other women's games on Wednesday, China defeated Denmark 11-1 and Britain beat Germany 7-4.
