Canada's Christine Nesbitt brought her country third 2010 Winter Olympics gold after winning in Speed Skating ladies' 1,000 meters.

Canada's Christine Nesbitt brought her country the third 2010 Winter Olympics gold after winning in Speed Skating ladies' 1,000 meters.

The 24-year-old Canadian finished the distance at the Richmond Olympic Oval in 1 minute 16.56 seconds.

Annette Gerritsen of the Netherlands finished only 0.2 seconds behind the winner to take the silver, while her compatriate Laurine van Reissen won the bronze showing the result of 1 minute 16.72 seconds.

Russia's Yekaterina Shikhova, Olga Fatkulina, Yekaterina Malysheva and Yekaterina Lobysheva finished in the 11th, 20th, 27th and 28th places respectively.
