Scientists record unique images of Saturn

Subscribe
The Hubble space telescope has recorded unique images of Saturn’s northern and southern lights at the same time. Both poles of the planet are visible simultaneously only once every fifteen years, when Saturn’s famous rings are seen from the Earth at a certain angle. Using the photographs taken by the Hubble over a period of several days in January and March 2009, researches have made a movie showing both flickering auroras. Watch a video clip of this film.
