The Los Angeles coroner has released a complete report of Michael Jackson's autopsy that said his death was a homicide, CNN has reported.

The 51-page report gives vivid detail supporting last August's conclusion that Jackson died from "acute propofol intoxication," the TV channel said on its website.

Jackson's personal physician Conrad Murray, who was officially charged in his patient's death, earlier told investigators he had given Jackson propofol, a powerful anesthetic, to help him sleep.

However, Dr. Selma Calmes, the anesthesiology consultant involved in the investigation, wrote in the report "there are NO reports of its use for insomnia relief, to my knowledge," CNN said.

"The only reports of its use in homes are cases of fatal abuse (first reported in 1992), suicide, murder and accident," she wrote.

Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter by acting "without malice" but also "without due caution and circumspection" and faces a prison term up to four years if found guilty, the TV channel said.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest and going into a coma.
