A Russian mobile hospital and its medical personnel will provide medical assistance to the victims of the devastating Haiti quake for another 10 days, the emergencies ministry said.

The first Russian doctors arrived in Haiti shortly after the January 12 powerful earthquake, which devastated the impoverished Caribbean nation. An additional team of 12 Russian doctors was sent to Haiti on Thursday.

The ministry said on Friday that the Russian medics had treated over 270 earthquake survivors, including 21 children, so far.

Meanwhile, Russian rescue workers wrapped up on Friday their relief operation in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, and left the country on board several Il-76 heavy transport planes. Their arrival in Russia is expected on Saturday afternoon.

During their week-long work in the capital, the Russian rescuers have pulled a total of nine survivors from the rubble.

According to the latest report by the Haitian authorities, over 110,000 people have been confirmed killed and more than 190,000 injured so far in the deadliest earthquake in the Americas since the 1970 Peru earthquake, which killed an estimated 70,000 people.
