The death toll in Brazil's mudslides has risen to 75 as several more bodies were discovered in Angra dos Reis, some 100 km (62 miles) west of Rio de Janeiro, which was hit by mudslides Friday, authorities said Monday.
On Sunday, the city of Angra dos Reis was declared an area of natural calamity. There are up to 20 areas where mudslides could reoccur.
Close to 200 people and specially trained dogs are involved in the rescue operation.
A separate landslide also hit the Brazilian island resort of Ilha Grande on New Year's Day, killing at least 26 people.
The mudslides were caused by heavy rains, which hit the area last week.
Authorities in the State of Rio de Janeiro declared Friday three days of mourning for the victims of the mudslides.
