A large fire broke out in an old residential house in the center of Moscow early on Friday, a spokesman for a local emergencies service said.
Two floors of the four-story wooden building located at Potapovsky Lane, near Chistoprudny Boulevard, were reportedly enveloped in flames.
"The fire covers an area of more than 600 square meters (some 6,500 square feet), 25 fire fighting detachments are involved in extinguishing the blaze," the spokesman said, adding dozens of residents had been evacuated.
No people were reported injured in the fire.
On Thursday, a fire in an office building in the center of Moscow claimed four lives. Investigators said breaches of fire safety rules were the reason of the fire.
