VILNIUS, December 16 (RIA Novosti) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Vygaudas Usackas is starting a Middle East tour on Wednesday.
Usackas will first visit the Palestinian National Authority and then head to Israel, where he will stay until December 19.
The Baltic state's minister will meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki. This will be the first official visit by a top Lithuanian representative to the PNA.
When in Israel, Usackas will meet with parliament speaker Reuven Rivlin, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, opposition leader Tzipi Livni and other officials.
The sides will discuss Lithuanian-Israeli relations, EU and Middle East developments, as well as cooperation in international organizations.
Usackas will open a Lithuanian consulate in Jerusalem. He will also take part in a business forum.
