WASHINGTON, December 4 (RIA Novosti) - The United States ones again asks Iranian authorities to provide any possible information on an American citizen, Robert Levinson, who went missing on March 9, 2007, during a business trip to Kish Island.

"Today marks 1,000 days since the disappearance of American citizen Robert Levinson... The United States calls on the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to assist in providing any information on Mr. Levinson's whereabouts and in ensuring his prompt and safe return to his family," the U.S. White House said in a statement.

The statement said that Levinson's case remains a priority in the internal policy of the United States.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said on Monday that "time is running out for Iran" to show the international community its readiness to continue a dialogue on its nuclear program.

The West suspects Iran of pursuing a secret nuclear weapons program, but the Islamic Republic says it needs nuclear power solely for civilian purposes.
