Polish President Lech Kaczynski said in a letter to the country's premier he was worried about the country's energy security and gas supplies from Russia.

WARSAW, November 18 (RIA Novosti) - Polish President Lech Kaczynski said in a letter to the country's premier he was worried about the country's energy security and gas supplies from Russia.

In the letter to Donald Tusk, Kaczynski asks for clarification of the government's stance on Russian gas supplies, including Poland's long-term commitments concerning Russian gas, the amount of purchased gas, pricing formulas, planned decisions on EuRoPol GAZ and tariff agreements.

The Polish leader "would like to stimulate debates on energy security" by writing this letter, Wladyslaw Stasiak, chief of Kaczynski's office, told journalists on Wednesday.

The Polish president is also asked for information on diversifying gas routes to Poland and perspectives of the Odessa-Brody pipeline project to supply oil from the Black Sea port of Odessa to Europe bypassing Russia.

Separate legs of around 500 km to bring oil to a refinery in Poland's Gdansk have yet to be built in both Ukraine and Poland as part of the Odessa-Brody project.

The prime minister's office gave no comments on the letter.
