MOSCOW, September 21 (RIA Novosti) - A 6.3 magnitude earthquake in the isolated Himalayan country of Bhutan has left at least seven dead, Al Jazeera reported on Monday.

The quake's epicenter was on the border between Bhutan and India's northeastern state of Amman. Rescuers are continuing their search for people feared buried under collapsed homes in the villages of Munggar and Trashigang.

There were no reports of serious damage or deaths in India from the quake that was also felt as far as Bangladesh and Tibet.

"We now have five confirmed deaths from house collapses in Munggar and two people were killed when a two-storey building collapsed in the neighboring district of Trashigang," Ugyen Tenzing, the country's director of disaster management, was quoted by Al Jazeera as saying.

Bhutan has a population of 600,000, most of whom are farmers and herders. The land-locked kingdom is located in the Himalayas between China and India and has no major roads, no electricity or telephones.
