Ulyanovsk Region agree on cooperation with Armenia

The authorities in Russia’s Ulyanovsk Region have reached an agreement with Armenia on developing trade, scientific, technology and cultural cooperation, a spokesperson said

ULYANOVSK, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - The authorities in Russia’s Ulyanovsk Region have reached an agreement with Armenia on developing trade, scientific, technology and cultural cooperation, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The document, signed by Ulyanovsk Region governor Sergei Morozov and his counterpart in Armenia’s northwest Shirak Marz province, Lida Nanyan, outlines increasing cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing, the construction, light and textile industries.

According to Sergei Morozov, Armenia is an important foreign trading partner for the Volga region and is ranked 6th for the volume of trade among CIS countries. Morozov said the agreement would lead to a significant increase in trade for the region.

In addition, during the talks a protocol of intention was signed between the Ulyanovsk High Air Force Academy of Civil Aviation and the head of Armenia’s civil aviation department which will see Armenian staff receive training in Ulyanovsk
