Russian clubs face 2009 finalists in Champions League

Rubin and CSKA Moscow will play Barcelona and Manchester United in the group stages of the 2009/10 Champions League.

MOSCOW, August 27 (RIA Novosti) - Rubin and CSKA Moscow will play Barcelona and Manchester United in the group stages of the 2009/10 Champions League.

Apart from European champions Barcelona, last season's surprise Russian title winners Rubin will also play Inter Milan and Dynamo Kiev.

CSKA Moscow, runners up in last year's Russian Premier League, will face Manchester United, beaten 2-0 in the 2008/09 Champions League final by Barcelona, Turkey's Besiktas, and Germany's Wolfsburg.

The draw was made on Thursday evening in Monaco.

No Russian team has got out of the group stages since Lokomotiv Moscow in the 2002/03 tournament.

Matches take place from September 15/16 to December 8/9. The top two teams go through to the playoff stages.

Group A: Bayern Munich, Juventus, Bordeaux, Maccabi Haifa

Group B: Manchester United, CSKA Moscow, Besiktas, Wolfsburg

Group C: AC Milan, Real Madrid, Marseille, FC Zurich

Group D: Chelsea, FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, APOEL

Group E: Liverpool, Lyon, Fiorentina, Debrecen

Group F: FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Dinamo Kiev, FC Rubin Kazan

Group G: Sevilla, Rangers, Stuttgart, Unirea

Group H: Arsenal, AZ Alkmaar, Olympiakos, Standard
